STEP

The STEP import/export interface is an add-on and requires a separate codeword.

STEP import

	Interfaces toolbar (optional)
	File menu > Import > STEP

The dimensions of the imported design model need to be checked and scaled where necessary. Ideally, the STEP design model is imported into a new drawing, in order to be checked if its quality and orientation are correct before it is positioned in the final drawing.

STEP export

	Interfaces toolbar (optional)
	File menu > Export > STEP

Currently visible 3D data is saved in STEP format. The saved STEP file should always be checked by reading it back.
