luna-sample

Luna is an optional module for ELITECAD that provides users with an AI assistant. Luna is your assistant powered a large language model (LLM) provided by OpenAI's ChatGPT technology. Unlike general-purpose AI assistants, Luna is specifically configured for ELITECAD and operates directly within the software. It can assist with ELITECAD-related questions, provide guidance on functions and workflows, and help users access relevant information more efficiently.
Luna is only available for ELITECAD Architecture 17 (R4) and up. You may need to update to the most recent update release to be able to make use of Luna.

More info about Luna

What can Luna do and not do?

Luna can... Luna cannot...
explain ELITECAD functions. construct building structures.
guide you step by step through tasks. create camera paths or videos.
create visualisations. complete complex multi-step workflows.
assist directly with some ELITECAD tasks.* independently make design decisions.

* Some tasks that Luna can do include switching between views and cameras, taking (4K) snapshots, creating PDFs and reports, selecting objects, adjusting measurements and checking plans for errors.

Data protection

It is important to note that input is transferred to external AI services for processing. It is processed in a pseudonymised form. This means that we do not pass on any personal data, customer numbers or office names to the AI model, but only key parameters required to correctly match the relevant query with the corresponding result. Depending on which AI system is used as the basis for Luna, data may also be transferred outside the EU, for example to the USA.
Usage is also logged on secure EU servers operated by XEOMETRIC. Based on ELITECAD’s licensing data, the software manufacturer XEOMETRIC is able to match individual queries to licences and thus to their holders. This is important, amongst other things, to prevent misuse of the free beta testing phase. However, server access is restricted to authorised staff to ensure the smooth running of the service and to improve it.

Tip

If this data transfer is not to your liking or your company restricts it, you do not need to worry. Luna only uses data that you have entered and does not monitor any activities you do in ELITECAD. If you do not specifically accept the terms, open Luna and interact, Luna remains nothing but an extra Icon for you.
In order to use Luna you must confirm that you understand this statement concerning data protection and security.

Tokens

token-counter
The basic currency of AI systems is called tokens. This is also the case with Luna. More complex actions cost more tokens and conversely simpler tasks cost fewer. The test phase offers one million tokens per month free of charge to allow for thorough testing. Tokens are automatically refreshed on the first of the month.

Beta testing

Luna is currently in the beta testing stage.

What does that mean for you?

Luna is completely free of charge during this testing period. In its current version, Luna has already been extensively tested by our staff and by ELITECAD Insiders. This means you’ll receive an AI integration that has already been pre-tested and fine-tuned. Nevertheless, we’re constantly expanding the features, learning from user feedback, and working out the details for fair packages that you’ll be able to add as an optional AI module to ELITECAD in the future. The beta testing phase is designed to be long-term yet will be limited in its duration. The beta testing phase is expected to end mid-2027 (subject to change) with advance notice provided in good time so you can switch to the future AI module if you want to.
During the beta testing phase, we will cover the costs of the underlying AI model for all users. However, we have set budget and token limits that apply to test and training licences, as well as to our customer licences. In each individual project, a maximum of 1,000,000 tokens per licence and calendar month are allocated, of which up to 25% may be used for image generation. If the limits are exceeded or the system is misused, we may temporarily suspend the AI integration for all licences or permanently suspend it for specific licences. We also reserve the right to change the budget and token limits at any time after the start of the beta testing phase.
The AI model used is pre-selected during the beta testing phase to streamline the process and therefore cannot (yet) be chosen individually. Technically, Luna is based in the test phase on an API connection to OpenAI, and data processing takes place within the framework of a data processing agreement. Personalisation of Luna is therefore not yet possible at this stage; the context is lost after each programme restart. This means that every time ELITECAD is restarted during the beta test phase, the knowledge from previous conversations is reset.

Future plans

Our AI assistant is constantly being developed and enhanced with new features. If something isn’t working at the moment, it’s quite possible that this will be resolved in the next update.

For example, we are already working on enabling

  • the integration of a individually selectable AI model (LLM) and even local LLMs,
  • the storage of personal preferences, documents and instructions,
  • the creation of building structures and the editing of further object properties,
  • or the generation of entire camera paths via AI.

Due to the rapid progress in global AI development, we are sometimes revising our implementations even before they have been publicly rolled out. Therefore, we cannot and do not wish to specify exactly when each new feature will be released, but we promise: Luna’s capabilities will continue to expand to provide you with optimal support in your day-to-day planning.
